Lusail City .. A various public transport network
Man-made island, mixed-use residential area, eye-catching buildings and state-of-the-art network of facilities, it is the unique Lusail city.
Located in the State of Qatar, Lusail city offers a wide variety of entertainment, shopping, residential buildings and other services that will make it one of the world’s most developed cities.
In an effort to provide all possible amenities within the city, Lusail city has been designed to include a variety of public transport available to all in order to facilitate mobility throughout the city.
Here are the most important public transport facilities in Lusail City:
- Light train network
In order to support the Sustainable Development Initiative in the context of using the most energy-efficient and environmentally-friendly railway system, Lusail City will include a light rail network linking different parts of the city.
The network includes four main lines covering 38.5 meters of underground railways and above. The light train network includes 36 stations to facilitate commuting within the city.
2- Underground parking
Parking is one of the biggest problems that Qatar facing, and Lusail city has adopted a strategy to resolve this crisis within the city, by providing parking spaces suitable for the people to move between the various sections of the city, and it’s available to residents and visitors alike.
Where 2,200 parking spaces were provided in the Marina area, 2,750 in the Lusail Avenue business district, Saif Lusail area can accommodate 1,000 parking spaces and another 1,030 parking spaces in Qetaifan Islands.
3- Water transportation
With a waterfront destination in the city, water taxi transportation will be one of the fast and modern means of transportation within the city.
4- Bicycle Routes
In order to provide a clean and sustainable environment, the city of Lusail has adopted special roads for bicycles, as well as providing pedestrian routes for commuting between parts of the city.
Therefore, various parts of the city have been connected to a road network for cyclists to facilitate bicycle movement.
5- Bus stations
Lusail City has changed the world’s view of the bus station from a waiting area to a masterpiece that adds a creative touch to the city’s atmosphere.
