In the past, they were just places where football fans can gather to watch and support their favorite club and team. Over time, football stadiums provided more services such as food and drink for fans to make them spend a better time.
In Qatar, and as a part of the preparations for the 2022 World Cup, the country is striving to transform sports stadiums from just sitting places for watching games into an exciting adventure and a unique experience.
Al Bayt stadium which located in Al Khor area is one of the stadiums that will provide this amazing experience for football fans.
The stadium was designed to embody Qatar’s history, as the stadium is inspired by the traditional Arab tents that the old Qataris used to inhabit, and that design is a symbol of the hospitality of this Gulf state.
The stadium is nearing completion, as 60,000 seats for spectators has been installed. Also, the stadium’s interior architecture has been finished, in addition to the tunnels that the world’s leading footballers will emerge from in 2022.
It should be noted that the outside area of the stadium will be planted entirely with trees and grass. In addition, some lakes have been created to increase the splendor of the place.
An integrated sports project
Al Bayt Stadium is one of the largest sports projects around the world. It is an integrated sports complex that has been built in an area of 1.4 million square meters, which contains a power center, cooling, and power plants.
This is in addition to a garden with an area of 400 thousand square meters surrounded by 4 lakes, as well as walking and running paths, and other paths for horse riding.
The complex includes 4 outdoor playgrounds which will be used for training during the tournament, and six restaurants around the venue to serve fans. In order to facilitate the entry and exit of the stadium, more than 190 gates have been constructed, in addition to 12 emergency tunnels.
The state of Al Bayt stadium also has 95 rooms in different areas that will be rented to sponsors and contributors to the organization of the World Cup. These rooms are designed to be converted into hotel rooms after the World Cup.
Retractable roof
For the purpose of controlling temperature, the stadium has a folding roof that can be opened and closed within 20 minutes. Consequently, the stadium can be converted after the World Cup into a gymnasium which can be used in many activities, whether sports or non-sports.
ِAl Bayt is one of the most important stadiums that will host the 2022 World Cup, where Qatar seeks to provide an exceptional atmosphere during that period, especially after the wonderful organization presented by Russia during the last edition of the tournament.
