“Lusail City” ..the Future City and the largest Qatari project
A futuristic green city project, embodies Qatar 2030’s vision for construction, the unique development of a sustainable and comprehensive city that covers an area of 38 million square kilometers, it is Lusail city, one of the largest commercial projects in the Middle East, which is scheduled to be completed between 2019 and 2022.
According to Abdullah bin Hamad al-Attiyah, CEO of Al Diyar Real Estate Investment Company, Lusail city is nearing completion as the infrastructure works of the city have exceeded 90%. Once completed, the city will be home to about 450,000 people.
Qatar’s largest project
Lusail City is the largest project that is being implemented in Qatar, located in the northern coastal part of Al-Daayen municipality, north of the Qatari capital Doha. The city is also the main project of Qatari Diar real estate investment company, with a total cost of $ 45 billion. Construction is being undertaken by Lusail Real Estate Development Company on behalf of Qatari Diar.
Home for 450,000 people
The city has been designed in a sustainable and inclusive manner, taking into consideration all components of cultural and environmental sustainability, as the city will be a home for at least 450,000 visitors, residents, and workers.
Around 200,000 people are expected to live in the city, in addition to 170,000 people working in different areas of the city. The city will also attract at least 80,000 people to visit its recreational facilities.
Integrated services city
In addition to housing, commercial, hospitality, and retail opportunities, the city will also be home to other community needs, ranging from schools, mosques, medical facilities, sports, leisure, and shopping centers.
The city will also feature other unique areas such as a leisure city, an energy city, a new financial district with several towers designed by international designers, a residential island, golf courses and relaxing beaches, and marinas for berthing more than 1,800 boats and yachts.
FIFA World Cup 2022
Lusail City will witness the opening and final matches of the World Cup, which will be held in Qatar in 2022, where the city includes Lusail stadium which hosts these two matches.
“The Future City”
Lusail city dubbed as ‘the city of the future’, it is the city that contains a light rail network, water taxi transportation system, as well as a bicycle and pedestrian network.
The city boasts large open green spaces with the aim of creating a comfortable and integrated atmosphere for relaxation and recreation, where 30% of the land is allocated to green spaces.
Lusail Marina Walkway
Lusail Marine Walkway is the closest landmark to the Lusail city, which was recently opened in the marine area in December 2018 by HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani.
The maritime zone is the gateway to Lusail City, located on the southeastern side of the city and surrounded by the waters of the Arabian Gulf. The maritime area is characterized by many trees and its 16 km long streets, which are located in an area of 672 thousand square meters, and there is a luxury marina for yachts sized from 10 to 40 meters.
